OHM in Continuum - Hein Braat

Ohm is the divine sound of creation which we address to. For Hindus creation and creator are one, Ohm symbolises creator as well as creation. This sound touches the Ajna chakra. The Ajna chakra is the sixth chakra and is Sanskrit for knowledge. The Ajna chakra is also called the Thirth eye and Shiva's eye. Ajna stands for vigilance and consciousness. The forehead chakra is supposed to influence the operation of all endocrine glands and is, seen from a philosophical view, essential for health. Disturbances of this chakra could reveal themselves on a spiritual level, as fear or concentration problems.

As the sixth chakra collects life energy and removes blockades, it should be possible to achieve a higher level of consciousness. In this higher consciousness duality dos not exist anymore. In the yoga sutra’s of Patanjali Ohm is expressed as the word of God. By repeating this word continuously, the qualities of the Divine are being invoked. Human creatures are part of this creation and are also a part of this holy sound.

Anyone who wants to walk the spiritual path and is looking for his Self can use this mantra in order to come "home". But in order to reach serious progress in meditation, it is in fact not easy to conquer all distractions and to be completely concentrated. Because of this Patanjali recommended this mantra to stop thinking. By Hindus the mantra OHM is considered to represent Ishvara or God, the largest power and the highest consciousness, as far as our solar system concerns. By tuning on this mantra eventually one will unite with God so it can reveal and manifest itself.
